Tuxes Tonight…

The picking out of the tuxes is on the agenda tonight. Its a red and white colored theme, not sure yet as to what color will be more prominent for the guys. We have an idea on what we want but we are sure that it will all change once we see the colors matched up for real.

If Rob had it his way, the tuxes would be simple for the groom and best man. Straight dumb and dumber style with the light blue and bright orange colored tuxes with top hats and canes.

As far as everything else, the plans are coming along great, only 5 more months.

NHL Beard-A-Thon Participation!

Off of the wedding subject for this post, but I am participating in the NHL Beard-A-Thon for the playoffs.

Hopefully they go far in the playoffs because im going to need some time to get a good beard going! Have a look around the site, check out all the beards. It all goes to a good cause and shows the enthusiasm of NHL Fans and their efforts to help their communities.

Today we get to pick up Shannon’s 3.25 size ring. Let’s hope it was sized correctly, I don’t think she can go much longer with the ring guard. (that’s what she said).

Megan is the mother of Robbie’s godson Cole, who will also be in the wedding as our ring bearer. Megan and Robbie have always been close and she really looks out for him, I was a little scared to meet her at first, as I was all of his friends, but Megan more so since Robbie told me that Megan has never really liked any girl that he had brought around. But as soon as I met her, she automatically made me feel comfortable. We have so much in common and can talk openly about anything and everything. She makes me laugh and we have a blast no matter what we are doing…whether it is playing beer pong in her and Scott’s shed with the rest of the guys, watching football or hockey, or playing silly board games like Guess Who. ☺ I wish more than anything that we lived closer; although we would probably get into trouble together if we did (but good trouble) ☺ She is one of the best people I have ever met and I really love and admire her!

Carly and I haven’t known each very long, but our first meeting was on a camping trip (my first ever mind you) when Robbie and I had only been together a short time…he really hadn’t even seen me without my make-up on yet But as soon as I met Carly, I just knew we would be fast friends and we hit it off right away. She has this great energy about her and will do anything to make you feel comfortable. We can talk about anything and everything and I love that we can complain about work and school and know exactly what the other person is going through.

She truly is one of a kind (although she does have a twin sister, who is just as wonderful) and I feel lucky that Robbie introduced me to her. I have loved going to hockey games with her and partying with her She is great and I am so glad she will be sharing this great time with us!

Ceremony Venue Picked!

In addition to finding the reception venue today, we also found the church to have the ceremony! Since neither Robbie or I are very religious we decided on a church that will allow us to deviate from the traditional religious wedding ceremony. We have decided to have the ceremony at the Community United Methodist Church in Pasadena, MD. Here is the link:

So, it looks like we are good to go for October 17th. We are planning on the ceremony beginning at 6:00 pm with the reception starting at 7:30 and going until 11:30. We will be providing a list of local hotels for our out-of-town guests and my mom has offered to help anyone who may need assistance in reserving their rooms!

So now that we have the sites, we can start planning the fun stuff! We are also planning on sending out save-the-date announcements as well as having our engagement announcement in the Pasadena and Waldorf local newspaper.

We have picked La Fontaine Bleue in Glen Burnie to host our reception. Very beautiful place that will have a great setup. It’s going to be a great time.

Honeymoon Plans

Although we are still working on solidifying venues for the ceremony and reception (and a date for that matter), I think we have decided where we would like to go on our honeymoon. On the suggestion of one of my bridesmaids (thanks Kellie), we are considering going to The Royal Resort in Cancun, Mexico. Kellie said it was awesome and from just looking at the website, it looks like just what Robbie and I will need to relax after all of the excitement of the wedding. Matron of Honor

It was a very hard decision to figure out who was going to be at my side on the day of the wedding. I have so many wonderful friends and family that I want to include and if I could, I would have everyone stand up there with us, but then I think it may get pretty crowded. But I think I have picked some wonderful women to stand beside me as Robbie and begin our life together as husband and wife.

My matron of honor is Meredith Robertson. Meredith and I met at work about 6 six years ago. From the moment we met and began working together, I knew I had met a friend for life. She is my rock and has this way of bringing me back to earth when my wild imagination and frustrations get the better of me. She puts things in perspective for me and tells me when I am being irrational…which I definitely need at times.

She has also allowed me to be a part of her family in more ways than one, most importantly allowing me to be apart of her and her husbands’ biggest joy, the birth of their first child Caroline. Caroline is the cutest little girl and I love her to death, so much so that she too will be joining the wedding party as our flower girl.

Meredith lets me to be who I am and loves me no matter what. This past year she has bestowed the greatest honor on me, by making me the godmother to her second bundle of joy James, who I just adore. Meredith is a part of my family and I will forever treasure her love and support.
